Hello. Welcome to my website. It started while I was in Europe for a semester, and I've kept it up since then. I'm now at the University of Chicago Law School, living in Hyde Park, and the story continues. If you want to say hi or visit me, email cfloyd at uchicago dot edu.

I watch the counter slowly climb. Someone is still reading the site.
Here is news in my life for those of you that care:
1) I was counseling at church camp for a week, July 27 - August 2. My good friend and fraternity brother Austin McKaig died in a car crash on Thursday, July 30th. I found out late Friday, Aug. 1.
2) Camp New Hope started on Aug. 3. I was the dean of the camp, which is for children of incarcerated parents. Austin's funeral was Wednesday, Aug. 6, and I left at 5am and returned to camp at midnight. I went from Seminole to Tulsa to get my suit, Norman for the funeral, Enid for the interment, back to Norman to be with friends and Austin's family, then back to camp. I was tired.
3) Camp ended and I went back to Tulsa on Friday Aug. 8 and saw some people. One of the two Explorers that my sisters and I share broke down, so I waited until Monday to go back. We've been sharing the car since then.
4) Tuesday, Aug. 11, Dad caught a piece of steel in the eye from a broken drill bit while at work. It penetrated his iris, hit his retina, and came to rest in his cornea. He went into surgery to remove the foreign body and try to save the eye Wednesday evening. I went home Wednesday and spent the night. The surgery was successful, and Dad should have slightly impaired vision restored in the eye after another procedure or two and time to heal.
5) Thursday I drove Stephanie and myself back to Norman so she could move into the dorms and participate in sorority rush.
6) Thursday night Ted and I made our reappearance at the open mic night at Galileo's in OKC. It was a blast.
7) Friday was a quiet night at the Library.
8) Saturday I tried in vain to catch up on work at the Canterbury house, then went to dinner with Danielle, her mom, and her sister Jill. Then I picked up my Austrian friend Jonathan at the airport. I drove him back to Norman and he checked in at the Sooner Hotel. I took him and his temporary roommate Sebastian from France to the Library for a welcome-beer.
9) Today I ate at the Diner with Scotty the Body and his mom, worked more at Canterbury, went to church, ate dinner at Pearls, took Jonathan and Sebastian to O'Connell's and then walked them around campus, then went to Doug's and watched Igby Goes Down with Doug, Sarah and Scott. Now I am back at Scott's catching up.
Hopefully now I can put life back together. Things have felt slightly out of control for a while, but everything passes. Anyway, I will try to get back into the habit. If I told you I'd hang out with you and I haven't called you yet, that's why. I'll have the car full-time soon. Just be patient and feel free to call and remind me.
