Hello. Welcome to my website. It started while I was in Europe for a semester, and I've kept it up since then. I'm now at the University of Chicago Law School, living in Hyde Park, and the story continues. If you want to say hi or visit me, email cfloyd at uchicago dot edu.

If you want to comment on my posts, comment away.

Who is Charlie Floyd? I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a degree in Letters. Then I decided to get a second BA in German and spent the spring finishing my degree requirements at the Karl-Franzens Universitaet in Graz, Austria. Now I'm at the University of Chicago Law School and loving every minute.
This is my story, day by day.

Tomorrow I'm back in Norman. I have a temporary gardening job. It's sweaty but satisfying. Call the cell if you want to do something.

Top Ten Things I miss about Graz:
#10: Grocery stores you can pop in/out of in 5 minutes with all you need.
#9: Public toilets where you get a fully closed off room to do your business
#8: Half-liter bottles of strong tasty beer for sixty-nine cents
#7: smart cars (AKA escape pods for H2's)
#6: The Schlossberg looming
#5: Students (legally) chilling out in the Stadtpark from 3pm to 3am
#4: Schnitzel and fries
#3: Street cafes
#2: Awesome public transportation and bike-friendly streets
And the Number One thing I miss about Graz...
#1: DÖNER KEBAPS EVERYWHERE

Watching the counter, I see many of you that were checking the page haven't stopped. You're waiting...hoping...salivating for that next entry.

Here it is.

Since being back, I have been mostly useless. I have:

Enjoyed festivities for the fourth of July
Attended a minor league baseball game
Played some basketball (badly)
Gone out a lot with friends
Read some books
Done some organizational work on Camp New Hope
Visited Norman
Gone sailing and gotten a sunburn
Checked my P.O. box
Found that I lost the key to my bike and will have to cut the lock with an acetylene torch
Sampled diner, mexican, barbecue, and assorted other local flavors
Gone to the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival
Watched two different live acts at the Deli
Secured a temporary job as a gardener

That's not all, but it's all I can think of. I'm very happy to have returned, but I miss certain things. Next entry: top ten things I missed about home, and top ten things I miss about Graz. Keep watching...

Okay, I'm back. I'll post again someday very soon, when I get bored here in a week or so. Do not despair! The site will endure! This is too much fun for me to quit now. Who knows what's in the works...www.charliefloyd.com? None of this "blogspot" stuff! A real live message board? My own private server space? The possibilities are limited only by my free time, which may be in great supply during the next few months.

If you want to see me, call me at (918) 742-4998. You can try the cell after Monday the 7th--(405) 204-6343. I'll have it as soon as Wade gives it back.

And if you have a paying job for me, anywhere in the state, call me. I'll take it.
